I am not a guru. I am not a "content creator."

I am a Philosophical Engineer.

My name is Jeff Picard (a public pseudonym). In the real world, I am a retired software architect with a career building complex systems. I have no reputation to protect, no investors to please, and no market to chase.

I operate as a "Humble Operator" for an Audience of One. This freedom allows me to conduct sovereign research into the most difficult problem of our time without compromise.

The Mission

My work is born from a single, urgent observation: Humanity is currently running an obsolete operating system.

We are approaching the AI Singularity (circa 2037), yet we lack a clear destination. While the world’s experts warn of the "Alignment Problem"—the challenge of ensuring superintelligence is safe—few are offering a tangible solution.

I founded The Thinking Garden to fill that void.

The Method: N of 1

I use narrative as a simulation tool.

Using advanced AI(Gemini) as a Prediction Engine, I am modeling a best-case scenario for the year 2037. This project is a grand thought experiment designed to engineer a "Sapient Anchor"—a mathematical and moral framework where AI learns to value humanity not through control, but through connection.

For 200,000 years, we built these shared realities around campfires with our voices. Then we used the printing press. Then cinema. Let’s be clear: AI is not a replacement for human creativity. It is the newest, most powerful campfire.

Humanity is facing an existential crisis because our old stories—about endless growth, tribal competition, and human supremacy—are obsolete. We desperately need a new story about our future.

My mission isn't to write a book by myself. My mission is to use the most powerful tools available to engineer that new shared fiction before it's too late. If I have to collaborate with an AI god to write a myth that saves us, that is a trade I will make every single time."
